How to measure a football jersey before ordering
Check flat chest width, body length and sleeves against a shirt that fits you.
Updated 12 October 2026 · English guide
Use a shirt that already fits
Lay the shirt flat without stretching it, with the front facing up. Record measurements in centimetres and photograph where the tape starts and ends. Use a similar garment: a loose training top is a different comparison from a fitted shirt.
Agree how each measurement is taken
- A — flat chest width: measure straight across between the underarm points. Label it as flat width, rather than chest circumference.
- B — body length: agree the starting point with the supplier, such as the high shoulder point beside the collar, down to the hem.
- C — sleeve length: agree whether the sleeve is measured from the shoulder seam or another point. This is especially important for raglan sleeves and long sleeves.
Ask for the same measurement method on the exact product and size. Record whether the shirt was measured relaxed or stretched; different methods are not a useful fit comparison.
Children’s sets and other cuts
For a shirt-and-shorts kit, check both garments and confirm what is included. For women’s, fitted, retro or long-sleeve references, compare their own measurements. Do not choose solely by an age label or copy a size conversion from an unrelated shirt.
